A system of harvesting equity with incentives

By

The efficient and orderly harvest of the cane crop in the high rainfall mill areas of North Queensland relies heavily on high cost harvesting and haul out equipment. The harvesting equity clause of the Tully Local Board Award provides incentives to fully utilise this equipment, thus encouraging growers to supply cane optimising early ratoons and harvesting with optimum c.c.s. It also ensures continuity of supply to the mill minimising factory lost time. The main thrust of the harvesting equity clause in the Tully Local Board Award is to protect the gains achieved by groups through consistent supply of cane.
