On-farm molasses storage and feeding trials in NSW

The paper 'Molasses as a Stockfeed' (Nicol et al., 1984) presented at the 1984 conference gave a comprehensive overview of the subject. During discussion of the paper, Watts said that in NSW about 60% of local dairy farmers had installed on-farm bulk storage to ensure slack season molasses supplies. The level of interest at the time in the subject of on-farm molasses storage and a projected trial feeding of molasses with additives at the Wollongbar Agricultural Research Centre, provided the basis for this paper.
