Control strategies for an experimental small scale sugar pan

Currently a research program is being undertaken in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Queensland to investigate the control of crystallisation in a vacuum sugar pan. Studies are being carried out with a 100 litre highly instrumented laboratory pan which can be used either as a batch or as one cell of a continuous pan. The laboratory pan, will be described together with the control strategies to be investigated.
