Commissioning trials on the SRI continuous high grade pan at Maryborough factory

During the six weeks of operation since commissioning in mid-October the SRI continuous high grade pan at Maryborough factory has been used for both A and B massecuite production. The observations of the performance of the pan during this time have been very favourable. This paper describes the installation and outlines the preliminary observations on the performance and operation of the pan. An extensive program of trials is planned for the 1989 season to determine the pan's production capacity and to assess the quality of the shipment sugar produced.
