A review of chain use and performance in Australian sugar factories
By McCulkin, KJ
The Australian sugar industry spends on average about $1.5 million per annum of replacement of conveying and elevating chains. A typical factory with a five mill train would need to spend about $0.5 million if it had to rechain its handling system completely. This expenditure is covered in this review, which considers each of the conveying areas of a factory in turn.
