An alternative pulsed track traffic light system

This paper reviews the performance of the older zener and transponder systems and describes an alternative Pulsed Track Traffic Light System which has been designed during the past three years to suit the road crossing layout used by Farleigh Mill. The new system, referred to as the Pulsed Inductor Track System, is described and its performance outlined. The circuit has been designed to cope with the track ballast leakage resistances observed at Farleigh crossings. It has proved successful and will be adopted in all 15 of the Farleigh Mill crossings for the 1991 crushing season.
