N Cycling in cane fields from 15N labelled trash and residual fertiliser

This paper reports on experiments to measure the cycling of fertiliser-N in trash and soil and the contribution these forms of N make to cane nutrition. These contributions were measured in farming systems with trash conserved from burnt and green harvested cane, and in the conventional system of burning all trash.
