Sample tracking system for a dual milling train single tip mill

Marian Mill's expansion in 1991 followed the closure of North Eton Mill in 1988 and Cattle Creek Mill in 1990. The resulting unusual arrangements of the new cane feeding system is shown. A single weighing station is followed by a single tipping station which delivers cane to the belt transport system. The cane is then directed into two separate milling trains via a belt splitter arrangement (Hodgson and Anderson, 1992). This paper reports on the design approach used for the new sample tracking system installed to suit this feeding arrangement.
