The calculation of bagasse fuel supply and potential surplus for a sugar factory

More recently, sugar factories have been interested in the provision of steam to associated factories or the provision of surplus bagasse to by-product plants. The basic model has been upgraded to provide more detailed information. The data required by the program have also been examined and more data are now required. The model can simulate crushing with weekend stops or 'continuous' crushing. This paper describes the model in some detail and its capabilites and limitations for calculating bagasse surpluses.
