A new horizontal vacuum belt system for ash handling

An additional 230 t/hr boiler is currently under construction for the 1995 season. The old clarifier ash plant was decommissioned and a new horizontal belt filter was installed to cater for the increased capacity of the boiler station ash system. This paper reports on the pilot trials, full scale installation and circuit modifications required to size a full scale unit. Both pilot trials and actual full scale operations resulted in moisture levels in ash being reduced significantly from previous years operations.
