Hypermedia document preparation for filter station personnel

This paper discusses the experience gained in developing the Guide to Cane Mud Filtration, a computer-based extension and training module. The Guide resulted from an investigation into the process of converting conventional, paper-based documents into hypermedia documents. In addition to text, the Guide contains graphics, animations, audio and video clips. Operation of the guide is described and development of a hypermedia document is compared to the development of a conventional training package. Some limited testing using research and factory staff is also reported.
