The effect of cane factors on bin weights

By

Bin weights have a significant impact on mill transport costs. With increasing extraneous matter content associated with green cane harvesting, bin weights are declining. Examination of extraneous matter analyses in conjunction with cane consignment information has shown a relationship between bin weights and extraneous matter, class of cane and varieties. The different weights of cane billets by variety and classof cane have the most effect on initial bin weight.
