Low pressure compression characteristics of prepared cane: A review

Mathematical models of crushing mill feeding require knowledge of the compression charactenstlcs of prepared cane and bagasse. Review of published data shows that the available results vary considerably. Most results can be represented over limited ranges by a "shifted power law" but extrapolation is risky because generalisation is difficult. The technique used for determining the compression characteristic probably influences the results obtained.
