Harvesting quality sugar cane

The industry initiative to enhance sugar quality through an education campaign and a market related incentive scheme has provided the industry with a challenge to improve. The Tully sugar industry has sought to improve the quality of sugar cane to enhance industry returns, reduce sugar production costs and provide quality sugar. This paper describes the program at Tully and the author's expectations for the future.
