The 47th annual ASSCT Conference will showcase the latest innovations and developments within the cane sugar industry.

62 papers from researchers and practitioners in the areas of Agriculture, Manufacturing and cane related research will be a feature of the technical program. Networking functions provide an opportunity to discuss topics and local issues with presenters, colleagues and equipment suppliers. The conference also incorporates an Industry Equipment Exhibition where suppliers to the industry can interact with delegates while publicising their equipment and services.

Agricultural Workshop

This year’s ASSCT Conference will feature an Agriculture Section Workshop in place of the traditional field trip. This post-lunch workshop brings together leading experts to share ideas, learn from one another, and explore practical ways to continue improving industry practices.

  • QUT Mackay Renewable Biocommodities Pilot Plant
    Focused on unlocking the potential of coproducts derived from milling byproducts such as bagasse and molasses, this facility is undergoing a significant upgrade to scale production and test new value-chain opportunities within the sugar industry.

  • Consolidated Engineering Plastics Workshop
    A key supplier to the sugar industry, Consolidated Engineering Plastics will showcase purpose-built equipment including Diacon guarding, newly designed plastic tanks as alternatives to metal, and brass grinding bays developed to support compliance with lead exposure legislation.
